Tasting note

From a cooler vintage, this presents a rather crisply defined nose of crushed orchard fruits, crystallised orange and fragrant apricot, all scented with distant hints of toasted nut, along with leafy mint and white pepper. The palate feels supple for the vintage, fresh and polished, with some lightly bitter phenolics, a rather pithy acidity, and a gentle sense of balance. It possesses good energy and vivacity towards the end, the drive of the vintage coming through, leading to a crisp finish. Drink now, although I can see this evolving nicely for a few years. The total sulphite level is 38 mg/l, the alcohol 13.2%.
