Today, we’re excited to offer two wines from the 2016 vintage and two from the 2018 vintage from Maison Camille Giroud, all at special prices. 🍷✨ If you love Burgundy reds with bright bouquets, silky tannins, and fruit-forward profiles, don’t miss these—you'll find them as loose bottles at the best prices in town. (🎅 It’s still not too late to find the perfect gift or treat yourself! 🎁)
Founded in 1865, Maison Camille Giroud is renowned for its commitment to quality. Originally a négociant, it focused on sourcing exceptional musts and wines from the Côte d’Or. In 1989, the focus shifted to in-house production using grapes from independent growers and its own vineyards.
Acquired in 2001 by a consortium of American investors, including Ann Colgin, the maison embraced innovative techniques under winemaker David Croix. This evolution transformed the wines from overly tannic to more approachable and fruit-driven, while still allowing for graceful aging.
Since 2016, Carel Voorhuis has focused on expressing terroir and refining the winemaking process. He emphasizes reduced sulfur use and advocates for whole-bunch fermentation, enhancing the wines' elegance and complexity.
Tracing its roots back to 1870, when Barolo wine was first emerging in the Langhe, the Barale family has been pivotal in shaping this celebrated wine. Today, Sergio Barale and his daughters, Eleonora and Gloria, manage 20 hectares of vineyards in Barolo and Barbaresco.
Barolo wine reflects the unique Nebbiolo grape and its terroir. Barale Fratelli emphasizes that true Barolo expresses itself variably from hill to hill, showcasing the region's geological diversity. Their historic vineyards in Barolo, Castellero, and Cannubi produce elegant wines, while those from Bussia in Monforte d’Alba offer more structure.
Their winemaking follows traditional methods, featuring long macerations and aging in large, neutral Slavonian or French oak tonneau, avoiding barrique. Their Barolos are perfumed and delicate with a linear structure, showcasing vibrant acidity and a complex bouquet.
The Barale family embraces vintage character, reflecting their terroir in each bottle. Their cellar practices include native yeast fermentation and bottling without fining or filtration, resulting in high-quality wines.
As holiday shopping heats up, we have a selection of newly arrived bottles. While the list is limited, each wine is exceptional for celebrations across various budgets. We hope you find something you love below.😉

Grenache, a key player in Chateauneuf-du-Pape (CNDP), shines both solo and in blends, contributing to rich, complex wines.
This Southern Rhone appellation is known for its unique terroir, with galets that enhance grape ripeness.
Jean-Marie's winemaking philosophy emphasizes elegance and finesse over opulence. Collaborating closely with renowned oenologist Philippe Cambié, he adopts a meticulous approach to fermentation, keeping different parcels separate to highlight their unique characteristics. This careful method results in wines that burst with refreshing balance and vibrant fruit flavors, often drawing comparisons to Burgundy.
Critics like Jeb Dunnuck praise their elegance, noting, “These wines always lean towards the more elegant, finesse-driven end of the spectrum.”
Similarly, Josh Raynolds encourages wine lovers to explore Royer’s offerings, highlighting their “superb bang for the buck” and delightful resemblance to high-quality Burgundy.
For those who’re eager to explore the soul of German wines, look no further than Weingut Zehnthof Theo Luckert. It is an organic winery nestled in Sulzfeld, Germany, within the renowned Franken wine region. Managed by brothers Ulrich and Wolfgang, along with Wolfgang's son Philipp, the winery operates from a historic tithe house dating back to 1558. The Luckert family dedicates approximately 50% of their vineyard area to Silvaner, a grape variety emblematic of the region.
Silvaner, or Sylvaner, is a distinguished grape in the Franken region known for its exceptional dry wines. It thrives in clay-limestone soils, which impart a unique minerality. With vibrant acidity and flavors of citrus, green apple, and floral notes, Franken Silvaners are full-bodied and refreshing. Their versatile profile makes them ideal for pairing with seafood, poultry, and creamy cheeses.
Uniquely, the Luckerts cultivate all four varieties of Silvaner: yellow, green, blue, and red—the only winery to do so! Committed to organic farming (certified since 2009), their practices promote soil health, allowing the true essence of the terroir to shine through.
The winery employs spontaneous fermentation and aging on full yeast in traditional Spessart oak barrels, resulting in elegant wines with flavors of melon, quince, and pear, all supported by a delicate mineral backbone.
Zehnthof Luckert's wines are celebrated for their balance, finesse, and extraordinary texture, often compared to prestigious white Burgundies.
Maconnais wines offer exceptional quality at accessible prices✨, making them ideal for those eager to explore high-caliber Burgundy. A new generation of winemakers, like Frantz and Caroline, is elevating the region's reputation.
Domaine Frantz Chagnoleau is an up-and-coming star in the Maconnais, founded by the talented husband-and-wife team of Frantz Chagnoleau and Caroline Gon. Their journey began in 2009 with a modest 3.5 hectares in the Saint-Véran appellation, and today they have expanded to 6.8 hectares, including prized plots in Pouilly-Fuissé and Viré-Clessé.
Frantz brings a wealth of experience from his time under renowned winemakers Anne-Claude Leflaive and Olivier Merlin, while Caroline, formerly head winemaker at Héritiers du Comte Lafon, adds her impressive expertise to the mix. Together, they are dedicated to crafting wines that authentically reflect the unique characteristics of their vineyards. Their commitment to showcasing the region's potential is evident in their organic practices, enhancing wine quality while honoring the land. They also embrace traditional methods, such as manual harvesting, ensuring every grape is treated with care.
With each bottle, Frantz and Caroline invite wine lovers to explore the depth and complexity of their beautiful terroirs, making their wines a must-try for anyone seeking genuine expressions of Burgundy.

"I completely understand why Josh (Raynolds) was so enthused by Thévenet – these wines quietly blew me away." - Neal Martin, Vinous.com
Born into a winemaking family, Thevenet honed his skills through an apprenticeship with local luminaries. He spent 7 years working under Georges Descombes, and 5 years as the right-hand man of Jean Foillard, two natural wine masters of Beaujolais. With this invaluable experience, Thevenet started his own estate in 2012, inheriting his grandfather's vineyards with vines ranging from 40 to 150 years old.
Thevenet's wines combine the traditional and the modern, reflecting his respect for the region's heritage and his desire to push Beaujolais forward. His old-vine cuvées showcase the classic, structured style of the appellation, while his wines from younger vines exhibit a more lifted, contemporary profile.
Beyond the renowned Pinot Noirs of Burgundy, exciting alternatives can be found in Germany, New Zealand, and Canada. From Germany, standouts include the structured, age-worthy Jean Stodden from Ahr, the rare, complex Ziereisen from Baden, and the elegant Markus Molitor from Mosel. New Zealand's Folium Vineyard wines, crafted by Japanese-born winemaker Takaki Okada, offer a distinct European sensibility with vintages varying in profile. Finally, Tawse Winery in Canada's Niagara Escarpment produces a range of Pinot styles showcasing the region's terroir, from racy fruit-forward to silky and elegant. This diverse global selection provides an opportunity to explore the versatility of Pinot Noir.
Originally from Bordeaux, Thierry Germain struck out to the Loire Valley in 1991, quickly converting to organic and then biodynamic viticulture. This deep connection to his land allowed him to develop a profound understanding from soil to fruit. Germain's meticulous, land-respecting approach earned critical acclaim, with his wines awarded rare 3-star ratings.
However, a devastating brain injury in 2013 gravely compromised Germain's technical winemaking abilities. Yet, through unwavering passion, he persevered, learning to make wines "with emotions", attuned to the delicate nuances of his beloved vineyards. Germain's dedication to site-specific Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc has resulted in some of the Loire's most exciting and soulful wines, conveying a profound connection to the land.
Rias Baixas, Spain's premier region for Albarino, is renowned for producing some of the world's finest examples of this aromatic, food-friendly white grape. One of the standout producers in this region is Fulcro, a small, family-owned winery founded by vigneron Manuel "Chicho" Moldes Morana.
Chicho's minimalist, terroir-driven approach results in Albarino wines of exceptional purity, complexity, and sophistication. Fulcro's offerings are distinguished by their fuller body, pronounced minerality, and greater textural depth compared to many of their Rias Baixas counterparts, with bright acidity, vibrant citrus and stone fruit flavors, and a level of intensity that makes them highly food-friendly.
With limited annual production, Fulcro's Albarinos are a rare treat, showcasing an exciting up-and-coming talent in the region and some of the most compelling white wines to come out of Rias Baixas.
Canada's wine industry extends beyond its iconic ice wines, as exemplified by Tawse Winery in Ontario's Niagara Escarpment region.
Inspired by the depth of character and sense of place in Burgundian wines, Moray Tawse recognized the Niagara Escarpment's potential as a world-class cool-climate wine region. He was particularly intrigued by the limestone-rich soils found along the escarpment, believing these were ideally suited for cultivating classic Burgundian grape varieties.
Tawse has become an authority on cool-climate viticulture, applying rigorous organic methods to cultivate premium Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, etc. With over 200 acres of vineyards, Tawse has been named 🏆Canadian Winery of the Year in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2016 and has one of the largest portfolios of organic wines in the Niagara region.
Have you ever felt like you've explored Burgundy's vineyards and cellars from top to bottom, but are still searching for that next big wine adventure? If so, it's time for you to start exploring the Alto Piemonte region, an area that offers a surprising and distinctive alternative to the beloved Burgundian wines.
Alto Piemonte is renowned for its Nebbiolo-based wines, which possess a unique terroir of volcanic gravel and glacial soils on steep, high-elevation slopes. Unlike the more robust and tannic expressions from Barolo and Barbaresco, Alto Piemonte's Nebbiolo wines are often lighter, more aromatic, and possess a vibrant acidity reminiscent of fine Burgundian Pinot Noir. The region's diverse soils and cooler climate contribute to the distinctive finesse and elegance of its wines, which are known for their aromatic intensity and complexity.
Rioja'n'Roll - as they call it – is a group of young Rioja producers committed to making distinctive wines that reflect their origins and terroir. Artuke, our artisan producer, is one of the members.
Artuke is a small organic winery located in Baños de Ebro, a village in Rioja Alavesa on the banks of the river. In 1991, Roberto de Miguel made the bold decision to transition the family's vineyards away from bulk wine production and towards bottled, terroir-driven wines. Now his children, Arturo and Kike, have taken the reins and are shaping this project with a deep-rooted connection to their local landscape.
Earlier this year, we shared news of new Burgundy producers joining us this year. The wines from one of these producers, Domaine Jean Javillier et Fils from Meursault, have now landed in Hong Kong. Today, we are excited to introduce you to this estate - a producer that should be on the radar of all connoisseurs of old-school Burgundian wines🤗. We are happy to offer a special introductory promotion, so you can experience these offerings firsthand.

Chenin Blanc from Loire Valley often displays a vibrant, citrus-driven profile, with notes of lemon and green apple, bracing acidity, and a crisp, refreshing mouthfeel. For this special promotion, we're highlighting a selection of sublime dry Chenin Blanc expressions, with excellant examples from Chinon and Savennieres of Loire and Western Cape of South Africa.

It is now run by Olivier and his wife, maintaining its reputation as a top Alsace producer. Olivier opposes agrochemicals, believing in organic and biodynamic methods to respect the land.
