Vietti 2013 Single Vineyard Parcel
We are delighted to offer a parcel of single vineyard Vietti wines from the much heralded 2013 Barolo vintage. According to Vinous.com, “It is a vintage of austere, classically structured wines built for cellaring. At the top, 2013 is a thrilling Barolo vintage.”
Vietti’s wines were at the top in 2013, as they have often been before and since then. The estate was one of only two producers to have produced a 100 points wine in 2013 according to Antonio Galloni. As stated by the respected Italian wine critic, “the 2013s are spectacular wines that deserve to be appreciated on their own, without any noise from recent events. The 2013s were always superb from barrel. They are every bit as impressive from bottle. Simply put, this is a magical set of new releases from Luca Currado, his wife, Elena Penna, and their talented team.”
Located in the heart of the Langhe hills, at the top of the village of Castiglione Falletto, the Vietti wine cellar was founded in the late 1800s by Carlo Vietti.
The estate has gradually grown over the course of time, and today the vineyards include some of the most highly-prized terroirs within the Barolo winegrowing area.
Luca Currado Vietti and his wife Elena, has taken the estate to a new level since taking over in 1990. They have contributed to the success of the Vietti brand – universally recognized today as being one of the very finest Italian wine labels – by continuing along the path of the pursuit of quality, considered experimentation, and working for expansion and consolidation internationally.
The vineyards are farmed organically, and they combine the modern and traditional approaches of winemaking to produce terroir drive wines that are built to age, but approachable early nonetheless.
