Tasting notes
The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Perrières 1er Cru has just a touch of acetone on the nose, more like a lift of VA that complements the vibrant red and blue fruit. This does improve and settle down with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and vibrant, with fine-grained tannins, a keen line of acidity and mineral tension on the finish. Excellent. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.

Domaine Pierre Martin is a winery in Chavignol, which is considered as the finest village in Sancerre. With 18 hectares of vineyards, mostly dedicated to Sauvignon Blanc, including renowned sites like Les Monts Damnés and Les Culs de Beaujeu, the estate embraces a hands-off approach. Pierre combines traditional winemaking methods with organic and biodynamic practices. The resulting wines have a rich style, highlighting the distinctive minerality found only in Sancerre's Sauvignon Blanc.

Tasting notes
A rich, savory expression from this steep hillside vineyard, Monts Damnés, which is one of Sancerre's most famous sites. Wild-fermented, the 2019 Sancerre Mont Damnés is gently aromatic, featuring ripe, slightly oxidative notes of bruised apple, fig biscuits and truffle. Round and textured, with a satisfying element of grip on the finish, this is a wine that expresses itself through touch rather than smell. You need to spend time with it to appreciate its nuance. Balanced and gently fresh, this is a stylistic interpretation of Sancerre, but eminently satisfying.
